Ku thyiwa ka mavito ni vuyimeri lebyi vaka eka mavito lama thyiwaka i vutlhari lebyi hundzaka swiyimo swa tindzimi na tihlanga leti tirhisaka eku tsaleni, byi nyokovela ku ya khumba mindhavuko, mifuwo na swiyimo swa vutihlawuri swa rixaka leri khumbekaka. Dyondzo ya mathyelo ya mavito ya swimunhuhatwa i dyondzo yo kongoma leyi welaka eka dyondzonkulu ya mathyelo ya mavito hi ku angarhela. Eka tindzimi ta Xintima, milavisiso leyi vulavulaka hi mathyelo ma swimunhuhatwa eka vutsari bya matsalwa ya ha kayivela swinene. Xikongomelonkulu xa ndzavisiso lowu i ku xopaxopa mathyelo ma mavito eka tsalwa ra Ximitantsengele hi xikongomelo xo paluxa ndlela leyi Vatsonga va tirhisaka mavito ku kombisa ndlela leyi va vonisaka ni ku twisisisa xiswona misava. Ndzavisiso lowu wu teka xivumbeko xa maendlelo ma nkoka laha mahungu ma nga hlengeletiwa hi ku tirhisa maendlelo ma kopasi. Mahungu lama hlengeletiweke ma xopaxopiwile hi ku tirhisa nxopaxopo wa vundzeni. Thiyori leyi tirhisiwaka eka ndzavisiso lowu i thiyori ya nkongomiso leyi nga tumbuluxiwa hi Soul Kripke na Keith Donnellan kwahala ka malembe ma 1970. Mikumisiso ya ndzavisiso lowu yi kombisile swinene leswaku ku thyiwa ka mavito i ntirho wa nkoka swinene lowu nga tirhisiwaka ku paluxa vutihlawuri, mavonelo ya vutomi, minavelo, na milawu leyi lawulaka mahanyelo lamanene na lama yo biha eka rixaka leri khumbekaka. The findings of the study showed that naming is a very critical study that can be used to unveil a nation’s identity, worldview and a people’s aspirations as well as rules that govern what it means to be human or not. Ndzavisiso lowu wu hetelela hi ku bumabumela leswaku valavisisi va hundzela emahlweni va lavisisa hi mavito lama ma nga sala kumbe hi tin’wana tinovhele to fana na Vukosi i Mberha, Nsuku wa Mina, Mibya ya Nyekanyeka, A hi Fambe Mghaname na man’wana. In human life, a name presents as a critical aspect the world over. In essence, naming together with the symbolic nature of names are critical wisdom that sepass the ideas of a language and the symbols that different languages use for writing purposes, and proceed to reflect the very identities, traditions and cultures of the people concerned. Character naming is, in this particular case, a branch of onomastics that falls within the broader study of general onomastics. Thought divers research are being undertaken across divers languages, and particularly in Xitsonga, on the naming of characters within literary texts, there remains a gap that requires researchers to close it. This study aims to render an analysis of character names as enshrined in I. S. Shabangu’s novel, Ximitantsengele as a way of unveiling how the Vatsonga people employ nomenclature to display their worldview. This qualitative study uses corpus method as a data gathering technique, and collected data were analysed using content analysis. Soul Kripke and Keith Donnellan’s 1970 causal theory of names was used to bolster the study. The findings of the study showed that naming is a very critical study that can be used to unveil a nation’s identity, worldview and a people’s aspirations as well as rules that govern what it means to be human or not. Since the researcher only selected a few names, the study recommends that future researchers proceed to research on both the remaining names in the analysed texts and other names found in other Xitsonga literary texts like Vukosi i Mberha, Nsuku wa Mina, Mibya ya Nyekanyeka, A hi Fambe Mghaname and man’wana.
