dc.description.abstract This paper examines the efficacy of trade unions within the framework of South African law. The study is premised on the rights of workers and job seekers to strike a balance in terms equity and provision of work. This paper critically analyses the developments made by trade unions to ensure equal protection between the workers and job seekers. It therefor crystalises the position of employment in South Africa in the context of trade unions active participation in the strategic employment creation and job security. This dissertation further assesses the relevance of trade unions in the contemporary dispensation in advocating for employment rights. en_US
